The University of New Mexico School of Medicine welcomes visiting medical students to participate in final year elective clerkships. Clerkships for visiting students are coordinated by the Office of Medical Student Affairs.
The University of New Mexico School of Medicine requires all visiting students to meet the same standards expected of our own students.
Students from International Medical Schools may participate in our program. Regardless of citizenship, students are considered an International Student if their training, including the basic sciences, occurred at a school outside of the United States. This includes students from "Off Shore" and Caribbean Schools.
Please review the Visiting Student Course Catalog for information on courses (courses which accept International Visiting Students are marked accordingly). See the Visiting Student Guidelines for more information on requirements and how to apply.
- The UNM School of Medicine is not accepting any additional International visiting student applicants for the remainder of the 2017-18 academic year.
- The Internal Medicine department is not accepting any additional International or domestic visiting student applicants for the remainder of the 2017-18 academic year.
