LTSS dedicated to medical education, research, and healing

La Tierra Sagrada, Spanish for "The Sacred Earth," was established in 1996 to advance health care and research in New Mexico by providing financial assistance to students and faculty in the UNM School of Medicine. Since 2014, the society has devoted its resources solely to student scholarships.

La Tierra Sagrada is a member-driven organization comprised of both individuals and corporations from throughout the community. One hundred percent of your gift supports scholarships and the scholarship endowment. Individual membership begin at $1,000, with multiple giving levels available.

La Tierra Sagrada has awarded more than $850,000 to support medical student scholarships and community-based research grants since 2003.

Become a member today! We host two events each year where you can meet the UNM School of Medicine leadership, faculty and above all – the students.
